GREEN GODDESS DUST

SUNSHINE ZEOLITE
Zeolite ‘cages’ heavy metals and toxins, trapping them in its microporous structure. The deep cleansing action provided by Sunshine Zeolite helps to purify and detoxify the skin from environmental pollutants. The skin feels deeply clean, smoothed and nourished after use. It calms, cools and soothes inflamed skin. Used to treat acne, including blackheads, and is powerful as a spot treatment for pimples. Refines brightens and tightens the complexion whilst repairing damaged skin and reducing scarring. May be useful in hyperpigmentation and brown blotches. Some say Zeolite treats melanoma, but I personally have found it effective only on superficial skin cancers, like the little ones that pop up around the sunglass line under the eyes

BENTONITE CLAY
Bentonite is known for its ability to absorb fine particles like dirt, bacteria and toxins from your skin. Like Zeolite, It has high cation exchange quality as well. Meaning that Bentonite has negatively charged ions that can attract positively charged ions

DIATOMACEOUS EARTH
Diatomaceous earth is made up of earth’s crust rocks, sand, and clays. It is a versatile substance that is used as a pesticide and as a natural detoxifier. It naturally reacts to oxygen or water, forming silicon dioxide. Diatomaceous earth is used externally to eliminate bugs, head lice, and ticks by causing insects to dry out and die. Food-grade diatomaceous earth can be used both externally and internally for the skin and body. One may ask, “how can the same deadly substance be beneficial to humans?” Diatomaceous earth’s major component is Silicon, containing about 80% Silica, a natural colorless mineral, 2% alumina, diatom, fossilized algae, and iron dioxide. Food-grade diatomaceous earth has liver cleansing properties and is broken down to a colloidal form into the bloodstream. It also aids the digestive system when used internally to cleanse the blood.

As a natural detoxifier, diatomaceous earth can be beneficial to the skin by fighting free radicals. According to Web MD, diatomaceous earth can be used as a facial mask to firm the skin. It also helps boost collagen to prevent wrinkles, promoting healthy skin. Silica has the ability to form collagen to repair loose skin when used directly on the face. Similar to pumice powder, the diatomaceous granular powder can act as an exfoliator when used on the face and can be used as a mask because of its high porosity, drying like clay to tighten and firm the skin.

NEEM POWDER
Neem (Azadirachta indica) is the common name of an extremely important tree native to the Indian subcontinent, which now grows in certain parts of the Middle East, as well. The important health benefits of neem leaves include their ability to improve hair, skin, and oral health, fight fungal infections, manage diabetes, and reduce inflammation. Also alleviates gastric conditions, slows the aging process, and promotes sexual health

Neem powder is an herbal green powder made by crushing the sun-dried leaves of the Neem tree. Neem leaves contain polyphenol flavonoids such as quercetin and ß-sitosterol. These powerful compounds are known to have antifungal and antibacterial properties. You can use the Neem powder to make homemade face masks, for hair care, blood purification and to boost immunity levels. Neem, with its strong anti-inflammatory properties, can be used to soothe skin rashes, irritation, burns, and infections

GRAVIOLA LEAF POWDER

Graviola (Annona muricata), also known as Soursop, is a small evergreen tree with many bioactive compounds native to the Amazon Rainforest and other tropical areas of the Americas. Although it’s only recently become popular in the West, Graviola has a long history in ancient herbal remedies and treatments, with the leaf, stem, root, bark and seed all being used traditionally. Since ancient times, it has become known that Graviola is rich in vitamins and minerals, all of which contribute to the health benefits it provides

Being rich in anti-inflammatory phytochemicals, Graviola (or soursop) leaf powder makes for an excellent ingredient in Green Goddess Dust. It has been found to offer soothing effects for the skin and enrich it with antioxidant compounds. It also offers analgesic as well as anti-inflammatory benefits

GOTU KOLA

Gotu Kola is an amazing source of antioxidants, which help to fight free radicals that are the reason for wrinkles, fine lines and skin aging. It is a natural and gentle exfoliator. It works to detoxify the skin by removing toxins, dead skin cells, dirt and pollution from the skin. Gotu Kola is a natural collagen booster, that can help reduce cellulite and tighten skin. Beneficial in reducing dark spots, pigmentation and blemishes and gives a glow to the skin. CHAPARRAL

The primary active component in chaparral is NDGA, which is thought to contribute to its medicinal properties. Chaparral is anti-microbial, exhibiting activity against against certain bacteria and fungi. NDGA and other compounds exhibit anti-oxidant properties, which scavage free radicals, reducing oxidative stress

TURMERIC

Thanks to its main ingredient curcumin, Turmeric is high in anti-inflammatory properties, which target your pores and calm the skin. Turmeric is also known to help reduce scarring, making it the ideal ingredient to clear your skin from acne breakouts. One of the primary reasons for skin aging is free radical damage, which can come from inside the body as well as environmental factors like UV rays. Due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, the long-term topical use of turmeric can help treat and prevent skin aging, including preventing moisture loss and protecting against wrinkles.
